[edit] About Me

Education and Research
This is my second semester in the Library & Information Studies program at FSU. I live in Gainesville, FL, and am a Ph.D. student in the English department at the University of Florida. I’m a TA for the University Writing Program, and I teach ENC 1102: Argumentation and Persuasion. My research focuses on the 19th century courtship novel, and I anticipate beginning my dissertation this summer.

Background
Prior to my enrollment at UF, I worked for four years as a full-time English instructor at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL. I’m also an aspiring author and am almost finished with my first novel-length manuscript. In this class, therefore, I hope to learn skills that will not only contribute to my future career as a librarian but also help me to promote my work. Many authors have begun to use blogs, podcasts, and websites to publicize their novels, and I am looking forward to learning more about harnessing that technology.
