[edit] LaToya M. Davidson
Hi, I'm LaToya M. Davidson. I am currently pursing dual Masters degrees in Adult Education (with a concentration in Human Resource Development) and a Masters in Library Information Studies (with a concentration in Information Needs and Services). I have been a FSU graduate student since Fall 2005 and hope to complete both degrees Summer 2008.
[edit] About Me
I reside in Georgia and work for a public library system, the Twin Lakes Library System. I have been working for this library system for over 6 years and enjoy working in public libraries as there are so many facets in doing so. I am currently the System's Assistant Director.
I earned two Associates degrees (Business Administration and General Studies with a concentration in CIS) from Georgia Military College in 2000 and my BBA from Georgia College and State University in 2003.
[edit] Favorites
My favorite movie and book is Gone With the Wind and believe it or not, I have it 4 different formats (ebook, cd, vhs, and dvd)! When it comes to music I like all sorts including:
- Michael Buble (my fav!)
- Maroon 5
- Robbie Williams
- Sean Paul
- Pussy Cat Dolls
- Kelly Clarkson
- Backstreet Boys
[edit] Hobbies
My hobbies include reading, watching television (more specifically all the Law & Orders and How I Met Your Mother), and spending time with my family. I am truly a work-a-holic and so that doesn't really leave me much time for a social life.
[edit] Family
My family is from Jamaica and while I was born in the US I jokingly say that I'm a 'Jamerican' as I spent quite a few years in Jamaica and when I speak most people have no idea where I am from as I have no 'distinguishable' accent.
[edit] Past and Future
Prior to working in libraries I have also worked in retail, food service, etc. but always somehow was involved in training and development as well as administration. Upon completing my degrees I plan to continue working with the Twin Lakes Library System and enhancing and honing my work experience. Like so many others, there just isn't enough time in ones day or even ones lifetime and so I hope that completing my degrees before I'm 28, I'll have more time to figure out what I want to do when I grow up!
