A little about me

Though Black Board insists on listing me as Joseph Downs, I actually go by Brent. I live in Louisville, Kentucky, the state’s largest city, where I have worked for the Louisville Free Public Library system for the past 15 years where I am an adult reference person. I earned my bachelor’s degree in 1999 from The University of Louisville in organismal biology. This past year was full of changes for me, as I got engaged, dropped back to part time work status, and became a full time student in the span of six short months!


My Interests

I spend the little free time I have away from work and school engaging in the following hobbies:

My ultimate goal is to become a school library media specialist in a high school setting. I enjoy working with young adults and look forward to being able to work with them on a full time basis. I’m really looking forward to this class. I enjoy technology and the challenges and benefits that it brings to the work that I do.
