[edit] Task
- Write a one-page (350-500 word) reflective essay and self-assessment of your peer support contributions, due week 14 (Friday, April 18).
[edit] Guidelines
- First, write a paragraph in which you describe how you used the Peer Support Blog, both if/how you used it to request assistance, and how you used it to offer assistance. Please include links to any blog posts that you think offer a good demonstration of your peer support efforts. Also include a self-assessment of your contributions to the Peer Support blog and a reflection on if and how this aspect of the class was useful to you and/or assisted your learning in this class. You might also consider this question: What might you like to change about how you participated in the Peer Support blog, or the role of the Peer Support blog in this class?
- Second, write a paragraph in which describe and reflect on how you engaged in other forms of peer-to-peer assistance in this class. Include a self-assessment of your contributions to group work and peer feedback, and discuss if and how this aspect of the class was useful to you and/or assisted your learning in this class. If applicable, please also mention any other ways that you provided support to students in this class, such as by creating a class resource or providing substantive assistance to someone one-on-one.
- Third, in a few sentences, discuss one or two of the most important strategies you used (other than peer support) to learn the media and technology skills required for this class, and/or to solve tech problems as they came up. I'd like to know this to help me better plan the support needs for this class in the future.
- Don't forget to include your name on the page!
[edit] Submission Instructions
- Save the document as a word or rtf document, with your last name as part of the file name.
- Submit the assignment to Blackboard > Peer Support Reflection.
- School Media Students will also need to submit the assignment to Chalk and Wire.
[edit] Grading Criteria
- Active participation in the Peer Support Blog and thoughtful completion of the Peer Support Reflection essay is worth a total of 40 points.
